Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Script Epic, a screenwriting tool currently offered as a free public beta. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. Please also read our Acceptable Use Policy and Beta Disclosure, which are part of these Terms.
1. Beta status
Script Epic is in public beta. The service is provided as-is and as-available, may change or be interrupted, and may contain bugs or incomplete features. We may add, modify, or remove features during the beta.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
- You must provide accurate account information and a valid email address.
- You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
- Minimum-age requirement to be confirmed with counsel (placeholder).
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the screenplays, outlines, and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant Script Epic the limited rights needed to host, store, process, display, and back up Your Content so we can operate the service for you. When you choose to use AI features, Your Content (or the relevant portion of it) is sent to your connected AI provider to generate a response — see the AI Processing Disclosure.
You are responsible for reviewing AI output. AI-generated text can be inaccurate, derivative, or unsuitable, and we do not guarantee its originality, accuracy, or that it can be protected by copyright.
4. AI provider relationship and charges
- During the beta, Script Epic does not charge you for AI usage and does not provide AI credits.
- AI generation uses your own OpenRouter account. You connect it once and pay OpenRouter directly for the AI you use. OpenRouter is a third party with its own terms and privacy policy.
- Script Epic cannot add credits to your OpenRouter account and does not process refunds for OpenRouter charges. Manage spending and billing questions through your OpenRouter account.
- There is no active Script Epic subscription during the free beta.
5. Acceptable use
You must use Script Epic lawfully and in line with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that policy.
6. Service changes, suspension, and account deletion
We may change or discontinue features. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is processed as described in the Privacy Policy: your account enters a grace period, after which your account and associated content are permanently removed. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations or to protect the service and its users.
7. Intellectual property
Script Epic and its software, design, and trademarks are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you.
Detailed IP, license-grant, and trademark provisions to be finalized with counsel (placeholder).
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law.
Warranty disclaimer and limitation-of-liability clauses to be drafted and finalized by counsel for the applicable jurisdiction (placeholder). Nothing here is a legal conclusion.
9. Governing law and disputes
Governing law, jurisdiction, and dispute-resolution terms to be determined with counsel once the operating entity and jurisdiction are confirmed (placeholder).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we will update the version and may ask you to review and accept the new version. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
